Music is a healthy and therapeutic outlet for identity and expression.  This creative skill can be used to reduce risks of incarceration, unemployment, homelessness and PTSD.

Why It Started
(James 1:27)

Roughly 30,000 foster teens age out of the system, annually. Of those, almost 50% are unemployed, 40% are either homeless or “couch-surfed”, about 30% are without a diploma or GED, and 25% suffer from PTSD*. Lightshine Recordings is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, equipping foster teens with musical instruments and lessons to reduce the risk of unemployment, homelessness and PTSD in their lives and in our communities.

Where It's Going
(Matthew 5:14-15)

The long-term goal, God willing, is to transform into an educational institution, a professional grade recording studio and music/video production center big enough to offer internships and scholarships of its own. Those awarded internships would get hands-on training in music production to include audio engineering (recording, mixing & mastering), photography, videography, icon and album cover design, social media and website management.
